I just went to the track and ran a 14.68 @ 94.4 mph!!!  My 96SE is COMPLETELY stock except for a new clutch.  This is improved over a 15.03 @ 92.  Is anyone else getting times near this?  Any one in the DE area want to race?

Ok unless you have slicks or something, that is so much bullshit. No offence but I also own a s14 and there is no possible way. If you had slicks it still would nearly impossible. There is just no absolute way if you are in a KA engine. Hopefully you are talking about a stock SR20.

Don't blame you guys for not believing, I have trouble believing. After all it is only a stock KA, no slicks, not even LSD (there was actually quite a bit of wheelspin through first). I was just wondering what others are running. I knew it was kind of a freak, I can beat my friend's Integra GSR and stay even w/ anothers mustang 5.0, who also has an auto 240 that ran 16.2 w/ a bad launch the same night. I was wondering if a cam swap or any other internal mods by the previous owner could account for the glaring discrepancy in performance.

you might want to check the manufacturer and the type of car you own...................... i can imagine someone getting a time of maybe 15.5 but w/ no lsd its kinda hard to believe if you don't have slicks. Or are you 1000's of feet below sea level? If you had racing cams you would notice the difference. I believe they cause a harsher idle but more importantly change your powerband.

Ummmmm... I look foreward to seeing the time slip <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/dozingoff.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> I don't want to call you a liar, but there just has to be something that we aren't seeing here, I just don't see how that is possible.

I second this. I hate to say this though even if i do see a timeslip i'll still be skeptical of the time. I honestly would have to be up there at the track and watch your car go.

first question, what gear are you in at the finish line?
second, please list your mods you think you might have, so I can get them. &nbsp;list everything, no interior, k&n panel filter, etc.

Is your car a base model with no sunroof, no ac, nothing... that might help explain a little, still a crazy time to be running.

and people thought i was full of shit when i ran 15.3 with just an exhaust, do u not have power steering or an interior?. &nbsp;Maybe the place messed up, shit happens, one time my friends auto mustang which runs 14s consistent ran a 13.5. i think the machine messed up, especially if u only ran a 15 before. &nbsp; Also we have a dragstrip in muncie that is at a slight decline, maybe urs is too

I pass the line in fourth, I have full interior, not even a new air filter although i did disconnect the piping going to the airbox for the 14.68. &nbsp; The clutch is the only other mod, i got that out of a 93 240 in which i also took the tranny. &nbsp; The 5th/rev shift fork broke off from me powershifting and all the synchros were gone out of the old one (no clutch, blipping throttle). &nbsp;I also have 225 Bridgestone S-02's which did give me a ton more grip than the goodyear's it came with. &nbsp;Thats everything i can think of. &nbsp; Also as far as powerband, i make absolutely no power below 4000, then has a very abrupt surge and pulls hard as hell until 6000. &nbsp;Weird huh? &nbsp; It used to not have the surge @ 4K but i have run the living shit out of it and it seems to be, not slower, but definately not as smooth. &nbsp;I launch @ ~4500 and slip the hell out of the clutch to keep it @ about 5000 with the throttle pegged and when it hooks i slam 2nd with a blip of the throttle and about an inch tap of the clutch. &nbsp;2nd-3rd ~ 55mph, &nbsp;3rd-4th ~ 81mph. thats about it. get all that?

Evil S14, track messup, maybe, which seems likely since i jumped from 10-15 run's between 15.0 and 15.1 all of a sudden to 14.68. &nbsp; The track is definately flat however, if you've been to lower DE you would know that HAS to be true.
VERY flat state.

that would explain a lot. I'm still not getting it though.......... but you know what if you got that more power to you. I just don't see how anyone else with mods (intake, exhaust, header, clutch, lsd) wouldn't be posting amazing times like yours from DE.

sixbanger, actually it's a fully loaded SE, everything but leather and the ABS/LSD package. &nbsp;I registered as HOTROD to try to get a matchup with one of my friends (camaros and mustangs). &nbsp; They made me look rather slow though.

Oh and i foregot, i am pushing 93000 miles, so when i change the timing chain shortly i am definately going to take a look at the head/int./exh. &nbsp;I'm half expecting to find them fully ported. Anyway, i never expected to type this much stuff just to show you that i'm not lieing. &nbsp; It always turns out this way after racing and the questions like 'where's the nitrous?' come up, especially after racing 240's (i smoke every one of them). &nbsp; Also, can you guys detail your runs, I think alot of the time is from my driving, cuz i consistantly knock alot of time off my friends times in their cars (even though i've blown three of their tranny's - whoops). &nbsp;Anyway, its late thank you all for your time and comments.

that was crazy....i was thinking maybe the weather was freezing cold OR it could be your car was one of the few 96 240sx's THAT has happened to be NISSAN's SECRET SILVIA WEAPON!!!! Intriguing, huh, hm......just that timeslip could've killed many CIVIC's and INTEGRAs, even type-R could be a piece of shit if your car ran that 14's ....

well that sounds like a race cam response to me. But i doubt your car has a race cams with that kind of grind because you would have a very lumpy idle with a cam that gives no power below 4k and kicks hard after that. that is the way hi lift cams respond.

but look at this reaction time. he has a reaction time of around .600 thats pretty damn close to perfect for someone whos not a pro racer. anyways. did you buy that car new or did you buy it from someone else? i think he did do some internal work to the car that you don't know about. ............ or when you changed yoru timing chain, that the mechanic screwed up and retarded your intake timing by a full 4 degrees and now your pulling like crazy. hey it could happen, you never know?
