I dont think your sr would feel that slow just because of the motor mounts. are you running on all the cylinders?

then it's either wiring, a sensor, or a filter in need of replacement.

To answer the question....yes stiffer motor mounts will give better responce, in terms of transferring more power down the driveline. The less the engine and transmission moves the better. However there are trade offs when using stiffer motor mounts. The vehicle tends to shake more as the mounts get stiffer. If your car is a daily driver new stock mounts will be fine. Aftermarket, polyurethane, mounts are best used if the car is taken to the track regularly. Solid, aluminium, mounts.....are best used for track only cars that get trailered to and from the track.

Personally speaking I took an old set of stock mounts and refilled "impregnated" them with construction grade polyurethane adheasive. For the time being all of the additional vibrations is tolerable. The difference is noticble but tolerable......

If you want to go the route I did polyurethane sealant has more give than the adheasive. But will make things seem more solid without too many vibrations transferring into the cabin. Another thing....allow the motor mounts to cure naturally.

your problem has nothing to do with motor mounts...

fuck, why hasn't anyone told you to do this yet? Pop hood. Look through gab in hood at your motor. Start car. Did the motor move more than an inch or so?

Then, with ebrake on(and no one and nothing in front or behind the car obcviously), slowly disengage the clutch with the car in first and reverse. Dont drop it so the motor stalls, just let it out to see the motor move...

Shouldn't move too much.

Color tube your looking for is Brown and Yellow IIRC. But I dont think your problem is a motor mount.

I bought it from Home Depot. I am not sure if you can buy any at Lowes. I have not checked there yet.

If you can not decide on which brand to get. PL is what I used on the set of mounts I have in my car. Liquid Nails, is what a lot people recommend. Either brand will do the job well. Personally speaking I have used both brands and it all boils down to how much are you willing to spend.

If and when you impregnate the mounts do not bake them. Allow them to cure naturally. You can find more information about the process on the site some where. Search for it.

Yes

I think so

I had my KA in my car, it ran fine, nothing special

Took motor out and realized one of the mounts was completely gone, like nothing, so motor was pretty much running on one mount

We put that same motor into another car with new mounts, that thing feels like the fastest KA ever

Only changed mounts

So yeah, I think it helps

it is a little more responsive imo all my mounts were shot ( both engine, and tranny) now when i replaced all of them, i find that the engine doesnt shake at all, and that the throttle response is a little bit snappier but not to the " OH SHIT I JUST GAINED HP" extent.
