I need a new fuel pump and am considering a supra pump - anyone know if it's too big or a pain to install?

first of all, how do you know.  Second of all, I know for a fact that no supra owner has ever ditched his stock pump to put in the Z32 pump.  I assume that we are all talking about the MKIV supra pump here.  The MKIV pump is one of the highest capacity electric pumps made.  The only pump that those guys ever upgrade to is the walbro high pressure 255l/min.  even that pump isn't too much of an upgrade for them.
you probably think the 300zx fuel filter you have gives you 10 more hp, I have the stock filter and more power.

sorry, back to the original question.  The supra pump will be fine if you can get one cheap or something.  You don't need more then the stock fuel pump unless you are making more then 250rwhp.  If the stock pump is more then $100 then you can get the regular walbro pump 190l/min for about $90 with the brackett that you need. If you are making, or planning on making more the 250rwhp, then consider the walbro high pressure pump.  However, you will need a new FPR since the stock FPR can't flow enough to keep the pressure down to 35psi at idle.  I am planning on doing the 190l/min pump since I don't want to get a new FPR, it looks like it should be okay with the calculations I've done so far.  It's good for four(4) 700cc/min injectors (or so)

Might actually be faster to get one of the Walbro units designed for the car. I don't know how much modification is involved with putting the Supra pump into a 240 but the Walbro's are pretty much plug-and-play. As for cost, it depends on what convenience and speed of delivery + install is worth to you. Not saying you shouldn't try it, but there may be better options.
