I don't know if this has been covered, but I'm doing it again if it has been.




How many of you smoke?
Don't smoke?
Used to smoke hardcore and quit?
When through a phase and quit?
...and so on.


Reason being, between classes as I walk through campus, it seems like everyone and their little cousins are blowing smoke in my face. It's getting old. I went through a phase and am at the point that it makes me sick to even look at a ciggy.

So what's it for you?

I was always hardcore against it.

I am now in a phase of having one every now and then, still don't like the idea of being a "smoker"

I smoked from the time I was 15 until I was like 24-25. Now I can't stand even being around it. I'm not a dick about it though. But I can't go out to a club or a real smoky place for a long period of time.

I smoke, and I am disgusted at people all up in arms to "stop smoking". It is my choice, and it is your choice to walk up next to me. Down here in SD we have to smoke in designated areas on campus, and even then we still get people walking by the smoking section complaining about smoke.

well "DUR"... you walked by a smoking section. Deal with it.


On the other hand, I understand not smoking inside, there is no need to subject people to our habits. But when you are walking outside, you do have a *mis spelled -edited* choice to walk 15 feet around us to avoid the smoke.

Im not a smoker, never have been. but i have tried a few. Just not too appealing to me, the smell on your clothes, your breath, your place. Id just rather live without it.Not bashing on those who do tho!

i smoke about 1/2 pack a day. i tryed the gum but all it did is make the back of my tough itchy. so i dont see myself quiting any time soon. one of my co-workers quit on the patch. she doesnt even feel like smoking anymore and shes been smoking for 20+ yrs. i think thats my next step. but to be honest with you, i enjoy smoking to much to quit

if you want to smoke, smoke. The people that really get on my god damned nerves are x-smokers who are total hypocrites, they make a huge deal about how fucking gross smokers are and how they should just die, blah, blah, blah. And since they quit they go around making everyone they know that smokes life miserable by constantly harassing them to quit. Get a life.

I used to smoke 24/7 16-23. I started to wane a year or so a go and now I'm at an avg of 4 smokes a day. I should probably just go ahead and give it all up. But then I wouldn't smoke breaks at work, and sit there and actually do something instead. Around me I know alot of people who dip. Smoking is somewhat rare.

I've never liked the idea of having emo black lungs and a wreaking smell that doesn't go away, but I have friends who choose to smoke.

To each their own, you know?

Doesn't mean i'm going to abandon my friends just because they choose to smoke.

about 2 years ago i was up to smoking two to two and a half packs a day. i quit for 6 months cold turkey, not a single molecule of smoke during that half-year. Just so i could think about whether i wanted to keep this habit, just to see if i could actually do it (listening to all these weak minded people talking about "cutting down" or "quiting" only to start 2 days later) and to save up money for my coilovers.

after that 6 months (of being a complete asshole to everybody and everything) i decided to start again.

right now i have a rule for myself that i will buy a carton (10 packs) a week, and if i finish them all before sunday, i have to wait until that 7 days is over to buy a new carton, so i have money available for rent, bills and my car.

smoking sucks, well iv been smoking from 15-28 i have quit a few times its hard as hell to quit for good. sence i know im gunna smoke i try to cut back and i leave my cigs at home that way i never somke till about dark and i really enjoy it.and also that way i only have about 3 to 4 a day it works for me

i think its a gross habit but the only people Ive ever tried to prevent from smoking are girlfiends cause that shit is just gross...just found two packs in my ex girls car, fuckin nasty. I dont care if any of my friends smoke or anything like that, I never smoked but its cause everyone in my family used to for their whole lives then quit when I was born so they made sure I knew it was bad.....the herbal is a different story tho

i smoked for almost 4 years, then quit for 6 months. I started again, and recently quit. its now been about 4 months, and it doesnt seem like im going back anytime soon. o yeah and no gum or patch or anything, the power of thought is the most powerful thing, not more nicotine.

I think there is nothing worse thing a girl who smells like perfume and cigs, that smell is up there with the worst smells, gives me a headache

Hookah! Was at a friends house and they were passing around the hose... smelled really sweet -- like honey and peaches.



I don't care if people smoke, and appreciate the ones who try to smoke away from the non-smoking masses of people... but when walking in a crowded line and they blow the smoke to the side so it doesn't get in their face, yet they blow it all in mine and everyone else by me... Same thing when they're crowded around the doors and decide they all need to blow their smoke in front of the door to keep it out of their eyes.

I'm going to start blowing clean air in people's faces. See how they like it. heh

I smoked 1/2 to a whole pack a day for 22 years and gave it up earlier this year. Ive only had 4 smokes all year. Im doing it because I would rather my daughters not have the influence and hopefully they wont start. I was one who would not smoke inside cuz it really makes everything in the house smell like ass. Im not one of those hipocrite X-smokers who look down on smokers cuz thats just stupid. I recommend that if you dont smoke now dont start. It will save you a whole lot of money and possibly leave you in better health in the future. If you do smoke then I hope you enjoy it. I sure did. You have to truly want to quit. I still have my doubts about my own resolve but for now it seems to be working.

I met this old dude in a hospital with emphasema (sp?) when i was like 13 and he scared the shit out of me. He said he got it from all his years of smoking. Just the way he looked creeped me out....like a skeleton with skin...it was unreal. i'll never forget that face....

I run track and i have allergy related asthma. So I, for damn sure, dont smoke. I HATE the smell of it anyways. I have friends that smoke and thats on them, i dont care.

I dont get it though. You smell like ass, your teeth look horrible, and you run a significantly higher risk of contracting certain cancers and other diseases. Why even start? To each his own though.
