Hello all well I found someone local that can get me a S14 SR20DET motor.  for $2500, BUT no ECU or wiring.  The guy told me that I could have Jim Wolf Technology to reprogram my ECU to run that motor.  Also won't I need a distubuer since the SR motor run coil pack?  Has anyone done a swap like this. Also would you recommend it to anyone else?

Yes JWT programs ecu's for the sr, however you will still need to do some ammount of Wiring modification make the motor run. I would call JWT and ask exactly what is needed as far as a harness as you may be able to use a modified KA harness. Also make sure that other critical parts like the Ignitor ship are included.

Make sure it has an intake manifold too. I have seen a lot of motor on Ebay and such with no intake manifolds. And make sure it has an ignitor chip as uuninja said. Those things are not cheap and the motor will not run without one.

Water pump, intake and TB, MAF, Ignitor chip are the big ones. Thought if you are getting a JWT ecu you can have them program it for a z32, cobra, or other maf.

If you are in cali 2500 for an incomplete motor is not a bargain. SR's these days are by no means rare. Depending upon how much stuff is missing I might shop around more.

The JWT distributer setup sucks! Dont use it. You will be alot better off getting a complete engine and it will work out cheaper as well.

i'd probably listen to oberkill...since he co-owns boostdynamics, which specializes in 240's, plus...even though i never had the privilege of doing business with them, i've heard that they are very knowledgable(sp?) and pretty cool guys...i've talked to louis about doing an sr swap and he was very helpful and you can tell that he knows what would help and what wouldn't....well, whatever you do...good luck...(how's that for a plug)?
