im having problems already .. well its a 89 wat do i expect...

anyways.. heres the prob .. hope some1 can help..

i turn the key and nothing...
tturn again and it starts..
but.. the gauge goes crazy the clock keeps resetting at 1<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'>0 and the seatbelt light flashs sometimes.. sometimes the door light flashes.. and this only happens when i 1st start the car and then after the freeway its all good..

its not the battery or the alt b/c i had it checked.. i think it might be a loose wire , or a blown fuse? or something anyone ever have this problem?

yeah, had the same problem w/ my camaro before. wasn't alternator/battery for me either. have u had a car fax report ran on the car? mine came up clean, but when i really started to look into the wiring of everything, i was finding sand in the wires n they were really worn out in certain places. neway, it was 2 complicated for me to fix, but at least a shop fixed it cuz the chevy dealer didn't notice what the problem was prior to me suspecting if the car had been under water before.

don't take it to the dealer, they'll just take all or ur money for nothing. after i brought it back to them w/ this problem they said the wiring would be 2 complicated to look at n that it would be like 900 something dollars just to find the problem, not fix it as well. one time my car's readings were goin' everywhere, not readin' right at all. after the shop ghetto rigged the wiring it all worked fine, they said i was lucky nothin' caught on fire while i was driving. i would seriously take it to a shop a.s.a.p. cuz electrical problems have been the worse thing i've ever encountered w/ cars so far.

CRXSiR,

Does your Speed-O bounce for a few seconds up to 110mph then shoot back?

I have a 91 with some dash issues aswell. &nbsp;Plus, this isn't a complaint, but in the winter, my odometer sticks for 100-400 km at a time. &nbsp;

Mine doe's the same to. If it ever gets warm out again i'm tearing out the gauges and looking at where the speedo/odometer connect.

If you do, let me know what you find. &nbsp;That speedo pisses m off sometimes.

My girlfriend hates speeding, I have to explain to her sometimes I'm not going 120Km/h, that the gauge is messed.

Oh well.

my head unit wouldn't come on either n i kept it off just in case when the problem was happening. also, my a/c wouldn't come on right, it kept blowing fuses the instant u turned it on.
