Yeah, he'll never have to pull balance shafts or worry about his crank or buy +50 wheels or never get to launch hard or spend 8x as much for the same parts as a nissan.

DSM's are cool and all, but I guarantee you your buddy does not own 4banger, and someone elses car will always be faster

Come on guys, everyone knows the sr20 was only designed to drive a maximum of 400 miles at a time. Don't do it, you'll be sent into a time warp in which you can never come back.

why do all these kids forget its a factory motor? like as if nissan designed this to go in a car that would only be driven very short distances? wtf? Its no different than any other motor out there, if its in good condition it will be fine, if its old and beat to hell, then no it won't last.

If your Cooling system (Radiator, Fans and water pump) is up to par, then you'll be fine.

like everyones been saying its a question of how well maintained your sr powered 240 is and if your willing to but the miles on it.... i say f- it tune her up and take the trip. its good memorys. Ive driven my sr s13 from Nor VA to North Andover Mass. and back with no issue and driving alot while i was up there for 2 weeks. plus NJ and back , va to syracuse NJ and back.... its a blast especaily when ppl see out of state tags then see the car and are like wtf! my suggestion for long trips is carry all o shit moment items just in case and go with a taller final drive... im sourcing one from a Q45 since i take at least 3-4 long trips a year

no just "sr specialty shops" sell "good" motors and install them with "love"

cough

Any car Ive had a hand in, is still running tick tock.

Even swaps i did 6 years ago.

One guy frequently takes trips from socal to SF, no problemo.

Either way it all is up to you. Everyone can say what they want but its you who will have to fix something if it breaks. Not saying it will but if it does then thats a problem you will have to fix so just use your better judgement in the situation you know how your car is running better than anyone

I made a 500+ mile trip in my S14 once, like 9 hours going the speed limit. It wasn't too bad, but I sure in hell wouldn't want to be doing twice a month.

If I were you, I'd probably drive my 240. I wouldn't want all my new friends up at college thinking I'm driving some beater.

Once my girl graduates high school, I'll be making a 3+ hour drive every weekend in my car to go see her. I wouldn't want all her friends thinking I'm some poor ass guy, you know? I want them to be thinking, "Asian in a nice import" and not "poor Chinaman."

I've really considered buying a beater for the winter to go snowboarding, but I can use that money to put into my car...Project Money Pit.

i drove 100 miles from home to school every weekend and then back again plus driving around at home for over a year. Plus a 40mile round trip drive from my apartment to school.....in a year i racked up a good 25k miles and the SR is fine
