if i put an sr20det into my s13 will it pass emission?

Yeah, it could if its running in good condition.

Depends where you live.  With a fresh cat and running right, the SR will pass the sniffer.  BUT the SR is not a DOT approved engine and will fail if they check all the control devices and/or engine type.  If you live in Cali - no; MA, NJ, VA, TX - maybe.
