I have a red-top sr in my 89 240. At first it ran fine until my battery died. when i jumped it i put the negative on first then the positive, aparently this isn't a good idea because i think i fried something. it's not getting any spark so i checked my CAS and it was fine, then I checked my ECU and it was also fine, but it only sends .8 volts to my ignitor chip, well there are 4 wires and a ground, each power wire gets .8 volts. i'm not sure how much the ecu is supposed to put out. i checked the starter input that plugs in under the dash and it is getting 12v. i tried to find the ignition coil relay that is supposed to be under the dash but i couldn't find it. also i have electric fans that used to come on with my ignition but no longer turn on unless i bypass everything and run 12v directly to the fans. if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it, i've been trying to figure this out for weeks and i'm fresh out of ideas.

              thanks

I think I read somewhere that your car has to be in neutral to start or there is a switch or something on the clutch that has something to do with starting...not sure at all maybe someone that looks at this will know. Without seeing it I couldn't tell you.
