Record N/A KA

I'd love to drive this car:
The guy pretty much budget built the car by himself, 190K on the SOHC pistons (in a DOHC motor) for High Compression, AEM EMS, ITBs, 4-1 Custom headers, and Brian Crower V3 camshafts.
I'm not impressed, I'm blown away.
I'd love to do an N/A build, but not on the FWD platform, nor on a Auto Trans.
The Red is the custom Header, Blue is the Greddy header (Shows name brand doesn't mean jack)

Thumbs up for being different!

aren;'t scca ka24e's pushing out like 240 to the wheels. I remember nissans top speed running truck was about 300 to the wheels or something rediculous.

blah blah blah, this has all been discussed before.

Scooter built all his own stuff too, and I'm pretty sure he's 180+ as well. Takes some effort, and I commend him on that.

Let's not get into the tube-frame, 240bhp mumbo-jumbo, cause it's pointless to run with that setup in a street car. The magical 300whp KA never existed and never will.

Was directed to vvtisupra not your setup. Nightshift is claiming a tad high hp's for stock bottom end but should all be cleared with his dyno graph.

I saw a GT3 s14 with a sohc ka (class restriction at the time) that was making around 340 hp. It was on ebay or some car sale site a while back.

what's the point of these mods? the stock parts can handle something like 350-400hp in turbo applications (i'm not an expert in this area), why waste the money?

to be honest with you , i was told that i would need to do that stuff. maybe a bit overbuilt for na? im talking with the shop right now about my dyno graph. the shop is called autofabmotorsports that did the tune. the dyno belongs to diyautotune.com. i was told it was a new load bearing dyno, dont recall the name. im gonna check my email again.

This is what I'm talking about in my above post. First of all, that's 340bhp if it even is that high, and second of all, no one could run that in a street car because no one wants to rebuild their engine every 5,000 miles. Thirdly, you have to use the term "S14" loosely, as they're tube framed fiberglass bodies.

There was a thread like this a while back and it just turned into a "who-can-claim-the-most-KA-horsepower" thread.

Don't let this turn into that.

Find out the Type of dyno, and Post the Graph. Greaser wants to see it too. Is your dyno corrected, because he made 19Xhp uncorrected.

Possibly was Rebello Racing. But yeah, those are straight up race/track motors that need teardowns after so many miles

Props to this guy though, and I wish him luck on his goal.

Sorry, but it makes the appeal of staying boosted much greater. 190whp whoopty-doo. I am sorry but that is weak. The poster has a semi built motor with cams, pistons, stand alone ecu etc etc and that is it?

You can flame me all you want, but you could turbo the motor and actually make some decent torque and power. When you start making 300+whp then the car starts becoming quick. 200whp < not fast

I am not trying to flame. I just hate seeing people waste all their money going NA and there setup is still not fast.

Just my $.02

a robello engine is nothing but parts from the Nismo catalog. those motors could certainly be street driven. if 510 owners use robello engines on the street. or cars can certainly do the same. also scca trucks did make over 300hp on sohc KAs, this has been know for quite awhile. altho i'm not sure if the truck-series sohc motor or the 240sx motor.

BTW DeviousKA had a very good running motor years ago in his hatch. search for him and you might gain a lil more knowledge.

HAHA, you don't NEED 300whp to be fast. Unless all you consider fast is in a straight line.

i live near crandon and they have a off road race track there. the nismo trucks run ka24de's i think in pro 4 or pro lite class, they are suposed to be 280 to 350 hp. the nissans hold their own with the toyotas there and a friend on a toyota team wouldnt say their exact numbers of what it was putting out on the weekend but their engines dyno at 380hp and had to be restricted down to fit the class. but they get them in a crate and send them away in a crate, they arent allowed to do anything to them except bolt header and intake on. and each motor costs 30k+

that 250hp n/a ka is def not street able, those things run like 15k rpms at brush run.

that 250hp n/a ka is def not street able, those things run like 15k rpms at brush run.

my friend went last summer and the nismo guys wouldnt talk to us, art schmidt racing are the nissan/nismo supported team. he threw out the name Pink and the guys kinda perked up but stayed tight lipped, and told him he couldnt afford any of it. i know toyota guys and they talk about there stuff? but its pretty competitive field. 3 years ago i went and the nismo guys were drunk and we could have walked off with the thing, we got to check them out but the outsides are same as pics, huge dry sump and a auto bell with like a richmond gear looking trans and based off the truck dohc.
