live and learn. go change out your fluid and cross your fingers.

as rx-7 guys learned many, many years ago, never trust dealership mechanics or parts counter people.
Hell yes. As far as I am concerned the FSM is my bible. Best money I have every spent for my 240. Counter jockeys have no clue. More often than not I have to turn the screen towards me and show them the part. Last time I was at Autozone I had to argue with the parts guy about atf going in the ps.

if your rack is leaking you're already fucked most likely gonna have to get the rack rebuilt or get a new one. if you're leaking from a hose consider urself lucky

are cars are notorious for ps leaks mostly because of owners before us using pf fluid eats at the hoses and seals

also don't use a thickener agent or those supposed 'stop ps leak fluids'

mine leaks bad lucky for me it seems the rack is fine

other notes of advice: don't overfill you're res look at the dipstick and fill it up to recommended in your climate ( see FSM )

If ur leaking fix it or at least fill it up when it's low it will be harder to turn the steering wheel, also you risk killing the ps pump.
