I was practicing drifting and yanked on the e-brake.  when i released it, the light didn't shut off.  now, whenever the car is on...so is the #### light!  how do i turn it off???

i was thinking of just cutting the wiring...but i don't know how to get behind the panel...

Your e-brake cable may be rusty. Get underneath and check it. Make sure your wheel isn't braking. Jack up car and spin both wheels with hand.

Other than that, look underneath where the e-brake is, and you should find a little switch or something that's stuck.

i dont know if this is true... maybe u need new brakes?
well try drifting without your ebrake.... it is possible
hmm try the pull the line from under the car.... then try to jack it up and have another friend pull the ebake and see does the line move......either that or check the ebrake sensor thing for the light

i dont know crap so dont quote me
just giving thoughts

Getting under the center console isn't hard in an s13, s14 can't be much worse. Pull that out and make sure the cables aren't stuck

you can always just pull out the bulb isntead of cutting the wire to it and ummm I'd say check out your brakes...maybe you heated one of them up a little to much and its sticking

Same thing happened to me in my Skyline in Japan and now my SR'd 240 here. Both of them had the brake light come on while I was playing and using the e-brake to slide around. I checked both systems out completly and their was nothing wrong. I have no idea why it does it but I drove the skyline for a year like that and my 240's light has been on for 10 months and counting. As a matter of fact the guy that bought my Skyline says the light is still on and he cant make it go away either.... Just check to be sure your fluid is good and your e-brake is not sticking on then put it in ignore mode..... LOL

that happened to me in my old car. my sis left the sunroof open one night that it rained and there was about 2&quot; of water on the floor the next morning (don't worry the seats soaked up most of the water befor it got to the floor). Then a light was stuck on, i'm pretty sure it was the e-brake light. #### things, you do just a little somethin bad with them and they get all pissy <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

The only thing that would turn on that light is the little switch/button thing for the ebrake. At least from what Ive seen striping my 240, thats the only wire going to anything related to the ebrake unless there is a short in the gaurge cluster itself. Id just pull off the center console and take a look at it. Ill be its stuck, probably got pushed back to far, Maybe it got slightly bent up.

K, your brake line is a closed system, so that means something is leaking. &nbsp;I'd find it before it decides to burst one of these days.
