I bent 8 valves : )

Ok I pulled my head off and I bent 8 valves on the intake side. So instead of

replacing the head/valves I'm just picking up a new motor and trans from a

92 dohc 240sx. My only question is what can I use from the 92. I've searched

but I cannot seem to source a definite answer. Thanks

Send a message via AIM to brndck
be more specific. are you asking what can be salvaged from the old engine? what year engine do you already have? and how the hell did you bend valves? did you reassemble your timing chain way wrong?

I think s13 ka and s14 ka are different but I think you can use the exhaust cam to run 2 of them as in running an exhaust cam in intake side.

Yes a timing issue bent my valves. Anyway what im trying to say is.... I

found a dohc ka and a trans for 200.00. They are from a 1992 240sx. Im

wondering if I can bolt that motor and trans into my s14. It's automatic

and so is the 1992.

Yes you can use the s13 dohc in your s14. I can't remember exactly what it is but you will need swap over something from the S14 engine. Maybe intake? Sorry, its been a while since I considered it.

didn't read what others said, but iirc, you just need to swap out the dizzy and the entire intake manifold..

yes, that motor will work. You will need to use the S14 intake manifold, sensors, wiring, dist., and the front covers would be in your best intrest as well as doing oil and water pumps and a timing chian kit while the motor is out.

Just swap the intake and exhaust manifolds...DONE.

How EXACTLY did you bend 8 valves. Give more information than "timing issue" please.

Ok I'll start from the beginning. I bought a running s14 for 800.00. And the

only thing was it overheated after about 30mins of driving. So after a few

weeks of looking at the problem. I figured the headgasket was blown. After

removing the head I found my assumption to be true. So i replaced the

headgasket along with all the other gaskets on the upper half of the motor.

Anyway... At some point I got a little confused about the camshaft timing

which was off a little LOL. So i attempted to fire it for the first time since the

tear down and hit a few valves.

We've discussed this since the dawn of time.

Transmission is identical exact the S13 one will not have a hole drilled for the CPS. Drill it or swap bellhousings.

For the engine, you didn't specify what year your car is, but it's *probably* a 95. Swap the water temp sender, exhaust manifold, and distributor. If it's a 96-98, swap the entire intake manifold.
