Swap finally done...now

I just finished installing a 92'ka24de into my s14. I was told that i need to change the intake manifold to the s14 manifold. I

did not do that step being I have the s14 motor stored somewhere else. Anyway I attempted to crank it today and it just

turned over with no results. Could the intakes manifolds actually be my problem ?

Your question is waaaaay too vague. Could be a hundred different things wrong. Be more specific.

what yr is the s14? is its a 95.. no need to swap manifold.. if its a 96-98 you will need to do that.

BUT the car should crank over no matter that because the only thing the manifold does is make the tps usable.

Swapping manifolds is not 'necessary'...but it's usually faster and easier than swapping all the sensors.

....did you put the S14 sensors on the S13 manifold? I assume so, if the harness plugged in.

...

I assume you resused your S14 distributor?

If it turns over but doesn't start...the timing is off.

I've done COUNTLESS KA-to-KA swaps...and I've been slowed down by bad distributor timing a couple times.

Have someone else crank it, and you check timing with a timing light. I'll bet it's WAY off.

If the timing is off. Could I have bent valves already trying to crank it ?

How can ignition timing bend a valve?

Did you pull the cams or timing chain at all? If not, the cam timing isn't off. Two completely different things.

Ignition Timing not Cam Timing.

KA motors are non-interference engines, you can't bend a valve if you have bad timing or a chain breaks.

It's not a belt-driven Honda engine.

Actually, no, the KA is an interference engine. Interference means if the cam timing is off enough, you will hit the piston. Most Nissan engines are.

You must be getting all this false, honda like info from "other" nissan sites or from some lincoln magazine...

Cams or timing chain that are installed wrong on a ka=clack clack, tic tic, no more pistons or valves.

Tell that to my exhaust valves on my black s13.
