R200 Install gone bad....need help
Guys
I have an entire rear subframe out of a non-turbo 300ZX. I assumed that I would have everything I needed to put the R200 in, considering all the write-ups I can find all deal with installing J30 difs, not the 300zx dif. So now on to the crappy part..... The S14 I have has 6 bolt output shafts. There are 3 sets of 2 12mm bolts holding the axles to the output shafts. The R200 rear end I have from the NA Z has 5 bolt output shafts. They are 14mm bolts. So now I start thinking OK maybe I can swap output shafts between the difs, and my stock S14 axles will bolt up now. I get the output shafts out and immediately notice they are different. Not going to work Now I am thinking lets just use the NA 300ZX axles, since they are the same spline hub, and they have the correct output flanges on for the R200. I get the axles out and set them side by side, and immediately notice that the 300ZX axle lenght, and the S14 axle lenght are different, by quite a bit. I tried putting them in to see if the diff would fit up in there, no luck, they're too long. What the heck do I need to make this rear end work? Thanks |

I'm trying to forsee similar problems on my Q45 rear end install, it's my understanding those axles are the same length as the S13's and I _THOUGHT_ the same bolt pattern as the 300z' something about using one Q45 and one 300z , I dunno my self though still doing research on it >.>

I have a complete 300ZX TT rear subframe at my disposal as well. I may just order up a Q45 diff and drivers axle, and take the drivers side axle as well as the uprights out of the 300ZX subframe and call it good.....
Might be better in the long run as I'm planning on 600+rwhp and gobs of torque |

As far as J30 axles, the 92-94s are the 5bolt style. The Q45 axles are too long as well.
