SR SR - Head Alignment Clips?

I may have misplaced one of the two clips that install into the block and align the head. Can I do without it? I can't find anything in the FSM about the clips. If not, where should I get a replacement?

Yeah, you definitely need both of those, one is not enough or you will do some damage.

you can get them at the parts stores, when i did my ka the parts washer basket opened up and i lost 2 of mine into the tank, i found one with a magnet but not the other, i got a universal or parts store one and had to take a cut off wheel and cut a little at a time out of the seam until it fit tight in the head and block. i assume it wasnt perfectly round just by the way i did it but it worked, i never had a headgasket problem.

So what would I ask them for when I go into the parts store? I don't even know what it would be called...

They're called dowel pins, and you might need to go to the dealership or search the web to find out what size you need.
