Clutch slipping

Have a question related to a slipping clutch. Just changed the slave cylinder and the clutch is still acting up. when You shift into gear it is quick to redline out and very slow to get up to speed. On my way out today for example had to redline through 1 and 2 and when i shifted to 3 was barely able to make 35 mph at something like 5000 rpms.... any of the gurus here got any ideas??

How old is the clutch? Does the tranny make any noises/do anything funny?

mines doing the same thing....my i hardly have any pedal...once i let off the floor its engaged. i'm told the fingers om my pressure plate are bad. some times i get a little, little bit of slipage. but other wise its takes too long to get to 5000 rpm. i got beat by a friggen saturn sc2.

im waiting on a resurfaced flywheel. i got a new clutch and 3 quarts of redline mt-90...when i get another flywheel ill pull everything apart and put my new clutch it. i want minimal downtime so im geting everything i need ahead of time.

Man, this really should have been faqed.
You have to adjust the clutch pedal freeplay. Look at the rod on the clutch pedal and adjust the nut so there is about and in inch of freeplay before it disengages. Not too far though.
How many miles since you did the slave? My clutch was killed after 120 miles.
Sorry I would elaborate more, but I have typed this up at least 20 times. No joke.

yeah dude.. just my 2 cent.s. im not that familair with tranmission stuff i'm sure i woudl like to leasrn how to chnage a clutch one day but i took mine to the nissan dealer and i know a couple of the guys there so i got them to re surface my flywheel and re adjust my clutch up to spec. sometimes i pay for a new bearing cocasionally. they said next time i'll need a new pressure plate and new flywheel. so i figure i'll learn how to install b4 then and go and buy a nice clutch and lightned flywheel

this has nothing to do with my clutch pedal freeplay...the new slave cylinder has been on for ~500 miles. the actual shift fork is not pushing the rod in the slave cylinder far enough to make my pedal come back up

aqwkmf- when your car is in neutral and the clutch is engaged does it make a clicking sound or anything like that? That would mean that the fingers are bent differently/pedal free play. Assuming it does make a noise, does it go away when you barely step on the clutch pedal?

How much fluid is in both cylinders? I just took a lecture on clutches, so I can help you. First, check the master cylinder. Check if the fluid is going from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder. Check to see if the fluid lines aren't damaged or stripped.

So, the pedal isn't coming back up? That means that the either you need to check the spring compression in the slave cylinder, or maybe the seal is no good. Check to see if the bleeder screw is connected well, and the plunger is in good working form.

I hope this helps you, I know I have a good understanding of clutches and I hope you can fix this problem.

yes....when my foot is on the clutch you hear nothing. when my foot is off the clutch in neutral you can hear a faint scraping sound that goes along with the engine.

sometimes when i roll to a stop or slow down i cant really downshift back to 2nd or 1st even at the correct rpms...sometimes i cant even put the shifter into reverse without working it around or playing with the clutch. it seems that the clutch is not fully disengageing....it might also be from the flywheel being warped since i decent jerkyness taking off and slowing down
