so its a pain in the a** to replace the front cover so i was gona epoxy it because its a small hairline crack. can anyone recomend a good epoxy???

Sand with some 60-80 grit to get a rough surface, thoroughly clean with isopropyl alcohol, apply JB weld liberally. Let it cure 24 hrs before using the car again and it should be fine.

I repaired a radiator with JB Weld in a pinch and it held fine(had a hole in a water tube).

2nd this.

You'll lose the engine if you drive with that leak guaranteed.

jb weld or marinetex. just make sure to clean the shit outta the area before you apply it, and them let it cure for at least 24 hours.

Id hate to see what other peep cars look like if they are reccomending to used JB weld and not just replace it ??? I would do the correct repair so I wouldn't get or be stuck on the side of the road!! It's your car fix it right !! Would you let some docotor just put a bandaid on a deep gash that would require 100 stitches ?? Don't be cheep about it !! Fix it right !!!

if i had a ka, i'd have no problem jbwelding stuff. just my .02.
if it doesn't leak then the problem is solved. yes its ghetto but welcome to the land of s-chassis owners.
personally, and since i'm unemployed and have a shit ton of free time, i'd probably pull the cover and go on a cleaning frenzy at the same time.

Just JB weld it, if it doesn't hold then you know what you have to do, I've had multiple techs tell me they've used it over the years on random cracks and worked great... it's just a KA couldn't hurt anymore then whats happening now

haha i like all the its a "ka" jokes..

but anyway back on topic, im pulling the motor at the end of summer to build it, so i don't want the hassle of pulling the front cover off if i don't have to. the reason i plan on using jb weld is because my uncle is a Nissan tech and he look at the and the size of the crack and just recomended to use some jb weld. and if it leaks ill see it obviously, and then ill just change the cover if it does.

i fully understand about half assing my car. but the problem isnt crazy the crack is literary the size of one hair. and the leak is a constant drip not a stream of fluid. but yes if i had the tools and time id replace the cover. that is the correct way.

so back to my original question any more recommendations on a good sealant besides what was mentioned?

Billy Mays says to use Mighty Putty!
On the commercial, he fixes a leak in the Hoover Dam! Not really, but that stuff is wild!
Seriously, though- go with JB Weld. When I worked at Toyota, one of the techs had a rod go through the side of his 22R. He retrieved most of the pieces of the block, put it back together with JB Weld, and rebuilt the engine.
This was 10 years ago, and I still see that truck running around!!
It may not be elegant or the "right" way to go, but it works.
Good luck!
