need some help
my SR has swap from my old s13 which is a '92 to a '89 s13.
wiring harness has been rewired for the the 89 s13. SR will start if i hook up a wire from the starter to the positve terminal on the battery. but when i turn the key it wont start. why is it not starting a turn with the key.

check to see if you are getting voltage to the starter when you turn the key. is the starter even clicking when you turn the ignition. you're bypassing the iginition circuit when you connect the starter directly to the battery. check your wiring, relays and fuses.

all the fuses are good.
al the grounds are good and connected. when i turn on the key to the on postion it wont start the car. bypassing the positive on the starter to the battery it works. i'm getting fuel pressure.

Did you connect the black/yellow wire from the harness onto the starter? That's the positive ignition signal to the starter... Most of the time that wire comes loose so you'll need to secure it onto the starter better.

try your inhibitor switch. its a little toggle thats depressed when you push in the clutch. I had that happen and its a really quick fix. Theres a flange off the pedal with a pad that pushes it and my pad fell off so I taped a Monster tab to the flange and it depresses it fully now.
