s14 rear LCA balljoint/z32 uprights

ok i am putting z32 uprights on my s14 and i have some issues. first of all the nut for the ball joint on the Lower control arm is stripped and i need to replace it. does anyone know what size it is?

furthermore on the z32 upright, it looks like a washer should go under the nut for the ball joint, anyone know what size?

i know these may be simple questions, but i am 500 miles from my car, and i am sending my father to the hardware store tomorrow since i am out of town on business. i would like to be able to tell him what to get specifically as not to waste his time.
thanks in advance, and as always i appreciate your help.

as far as Z32 uprights, there are special "seats" that go on ball joint before the spindle can be put on. you're probably missing that, thats why you have extra space up top. Dunno thats my guess. They're only $7 at nissan.

To add to this further, im not sure if S14 rear lower ball joints are the same as those of the S13. If they are not then your gonna need S13/Z32 lower control arms to make this work.

The S13 and Z32 share the same exact lower control arm and ball joints, and only the conical insert works on the S13 and Z32 ball joint, not sure about the S14 ball joint but I think its bigger and will not work but dont quote me.

Have him compare it to your wheel studs, if it is more coarse then that it is probably M14X1.00....is he not able to take the bolt with him to the hardware store?

It's a 1.25 pitch, but I don't recall the size. M14 sounds too large but it may be it.

You cannot use S13/Z32 Aarms on an S14 unless you use a stack of washers, the mounting staunches on the subframe are wider. The S14 Aarm works fine with no issue, just use the corresponding Z32 hardware.

Or install Enery suspension LCA bushings for a S14 on the S13/Z32 LCA, this is exactly the opposite I had to do on my J30 LCA onto my S13.

and since I know taht the J30 LCA part that bolts to the sub-frame is the same as the S14 those bushing would work.....but the catch is the J30 uses a ball joint that bigger than the s13/z32 so it wont work.

OK IC so I assume that the Z32 conical insert fits on the S14 ball joint perfectly then?

You're right. Z32 uses a flared nut. S13 and S14 use a flat nut. J30 uses a flat nut with a washer.

Damn. Owned. I honestly don't claim to know it all so it's good to be tested once in a while. Now that it's brought up I do remember using a die to rethread a damaged ball joint like seven years ago and it being a 1.5 pitch.
