I have a problem with my idle. If I come to a quick stop my idle goes down really low that the vehicle dies. Could this be related to my open atmosphere bov? Do I have to re route a air hose connection somewhere?

It could be your bov, but it depends on the type of bov. If its a diaphragm type bov then it needs to be rerouted into the intake stream or you will have poor idle problems but if its a piston type bov then i do not believe you will have this same problem.
