Angry RGGGGHHHHAAA!!! what wheels do I want?!?!?!

god Im going insane. I am having sooooo much trouble finding a wheel that suits me, and after about 30 cumulative hours searching the internet I figure I might as well post.

Im trying to find a wheel that fits the following requirments:

fits the stock 4 lug setup (I dont want to spend the money to go to 5)
is either 16 or 17 inches tall
somewhere between 8 and 9 inches wide
costs 1k or less
looks decent

its driving me insane trying to figure out what wheels I want, the closest I have come to finding this is the buddyclub P1 Racings, but those are exactly 1k.

im need help

you wont find anything in those widths with that diameter

you have to go 5 lug

simple as that
unless you buy buddy club ($$$$$$$$$)

For your price range, of ~$1k, 4 lugs, you'll be looking at 17x7s...

Check out ebay, them sometimes have used stuff there, but otherwise get 5 lugs conversion for more options.

Hardly anybody makes wheels for our 4-lug cars in decent width and proper offset, except in Japan (arm + leg). Under $250 a wheel the P1 (aka Kosei K1) seems to be about the only option. Panasport may make a 16x8 FS, not sure you'd probably have to call them as I have never found much info online. But they do all kinds of offsets and aren't too expensive either, IIRC. You could always try to find some used wheels like old SSR, Volk, or something. Of course, you have to scrounge around and beat all those damn drifters to it

I never looked too much at the 5 lug conversion, can anybody give me a quick ballpark figure? 100? 200? more? i'm hoping its all junkyard parts that "bolt on" per-se.

Kosei K1s would be about $200 apiece in 16x8.5 +27. Maybe a bit more... Custom machining (for the 4 lug pattern) is $20 IIRC, don't recall what the wheel costs

Talk to Luke at tirerack...

antici...

pation!

hahaha

It'd take almost as long to ship wheels from Japan to the east coast...

I'll take the koseis!

Enough demand and they might start keeping 4x114s in stock again...

well, thing is, the K1s are knockoffs of the P1 racing, which is just about the same price. is there any reason to go with the kosei instead of the buddy club?

they're NOT knockoffs! same wheel, different stickers.

wouldn't matter if they were, because many many people race on them.. they're an unbeatable combination of light + cheap + strong

Kosei makes the wheels for Buddy Club in Japan, they also have their own lineup of wheels.

In the US there is no Buddy Club, so Kosei sells the wheel directly.

As posted above Luke at the TireRack can hook you up.

I just hunted used wheels until I found what I wanted. Sucks but patience is a virtue when money is tight
