try unbolting the mounts off from the bottom of the car. and connect it to the motor. then drop the motor with he mounts on the subframe. theres abit more play so u can get it in.

There's where I run into a problem, the bottom motor mount bolts won't break loose.

and ive spent an excess of 7+ hours trying to get them off with:

PB Blaster
Torch
WD-40
Tap and Die or whatever set
Strip set

Nothing works.

Im so fuckin frustrated right now.

You've got to unbolt the bottom mounts unless you can REALLY pry the upper stud outwards and get it to line up with the now raised engine mount bracket.

Why can't you get the bottom nut loose? Did you round it off or something? Just put a 2 ft breaker bar on an extension and socket and crank that sucker right off. If you're trying to do it with a regular rachet, well, that's your problem right there.

iv yet to do it with out having the mounts loose.

its tough thing to to a hoist makes it easiest, a floor jack or two helps as well

you might be able to drop the subframe and then install the motor to that that reinstall it on the subframe

I had the same kind of problem...just jack it back up two pumps with the hoist, put it in the passenger's mount...lower it a TAD and shake the fucking shit out of the motor till it drops down (nothing will get damaged) eventually you will get frustrated and do it

Unbolt one of the engine mount brackets off the block, whichever you can get to easiest. Line the other side up, slip the nut on just a hair. Now go to the other side and put the bracket on the mount, then line it up to the block. It's much harder to do obviously then sliding the mounts on to the crossmember, but easier than trying to line the brackets up to both mounts.

Okay, a little update.

I have the drivers side on, with the nut on just a few notches.

Now, I just can't get the fuckin passenger side angled up enough to go into the hole.

Ive used prybars and sold steel with 200lbs and it still wont go level enough.

Any ideas?

Man if it was me, I'd take an air hammer with a chisel bit and chisel the nuts off the bottom mount bolts, or cut em with an angle grinder, an just get new mounts!!! IF THEY'RE THAT BAD!!!
