![]() Hello all!
I'm trying to pin-point a leak from my fuel tank on my S14. I've removed the panel in the trunk and see no signs of a leak from the upper hoses or the fuel pump's gasket. When inspecting from under the car the leak seems to be only coming from the drivers side. I see no signs of physical damage near the tank, and the leak has only developed since I attemped to pass emissions. I'm thinking that something is leaking now after one of the pressure tests from the emissions station? But what??? Could it have cracked my tank? According to the FSM there is a hose running from the fuel pump area back to the driver's side part of the tank (I can't feel the hose but maybe if it was dropped from the chassis I could?) I'm not too sure what else to check... I don't think it's the seam because fuel appears to be leaking down over it from the upper area where it curves back under the rear seat. Is my only option to drop the tank??? ![]() Thanks in advance, Brandon |

There is a check valve on the tank as well as two vent hoses. If the system was pressure tested any of those could have been brittle enough to start leaking.
Sadly the only way to know for certain is to drop the tank. Good luck. Drive it around for a week first so it's empty.
