hi all, i own a 1982 280zx aka "eurozx" on other forums, www.eurozx.com, and recently had it some what totaled, it cant go into the body shop for 2months so im buying a 240sx [for my second project car, off the bat im getting a body kit and rims] and i need to know what the wheel offset and bolt pattern are, i currently have wheel adapters on my 280zx to fit a set of 17x7 asa JS5 rims, 4x100 patter, w/ a 40s offset, id like to keep these same rimes to i can switch back and forth, i belive they iwll look really good on a 240sx so if i could spend $200 like i did in the past to get adapters made id rather do that, anyone try this?
thanks. wwww.eurozx.com |

Nice.
Your offset will be 4x114.3 Depending on what size the wheel is a 40mm should work. I run a 34mm on my 17" wheels on my 91 Hatchback. Take a look @ http://www.zilvia.net/pages/rides/my240.asp |

oh ive seen ur car west very nice, my wheels are universal so i hope they fit!! they should.
drifter, im building my 280zx Turbo to 450hp at the rear wheels, my 240sx will be only for a daily driver, but i need something that looks nice.. like always it will have engine mods but no more then 180hp [seeing how they have 155from the factory] but that 17 second 1/4 factory time is a bit slow for me, after a while i hope to get it down to 15's.. my 280zx does 16's factory, so i need atleast that or i am not happy.. im still trying to find one!! i only want to spend $2k to get a cheap one, i found a great one but still have been unable to contact the people who own it, so the search contiunues. thanks for the bolt pattern. the rims are on www.eurozx.com, same ones on my 280zx, shold look equaly as good w/ that shogun kit |

You can get your 240SX to run 14.9 1/4 miles with bolt ons. Im almost there. ECU & Headers are in the mail |

If its your daily driver, then dont get it, get the 91. In 91 they put the DOHC model KA24DE in and fixed a few problems, one BIG problem that happened to my old 89 240 was the timing chain. It costs about 900-1000$ to fix. So spend the extra $ on the 91 and get a better motor along with 15 more hp

oh joy well now im stuck in a hard place.. i have untill wensday to get the car, i loose my rental on thursday and then i have no car [since the z is sorta dead right now].. i was hoping you would just say "oh it just has 10less hp ur okay" hehe i figured it would have something wrong with the top end, ive seen/heard alot of things about that stuff on the 240sx, definatly not something i want to replace right when i get the car.
ill keep looking, if i cant find one ill go up tomorrow and look at the 240sx, i dont want to buy another car later so this one has to be running really #### good.. it sucks i dont have the rental for longer! thanks. |

he says its very reliable [but they always say that] currently its his daily driver, and thats what it will be for me.
its not a car i plan to rag on or race, its not quick enough, and i dont think with 3k of engine mods it will still be fast enough for me.. this is why i got my 280zx w/ turbo, thats one powerfull car but is this still going to be as reliable as a ka24de? why did you have to replace your timing chain? thanks. www.eurozx.com |
