Does anyone know if the Q45 or J30 ebrake assy (one of them uses the same drum type setup as the Z32 for an e-brake) work instead of using the Z32's?

Yes. The Q45 uses the exact same parts as the Z32, same upright even. The J30 uses a similar setup with a press in hub, you need the entire upright with hub in order to use it. Plenty of info on both if you look around.
