Like I stated earlier in the thread.
any large caravans should be filming the whole trip.
All footage should be stock piled together, and made into the DVD before the footage is sent home with the owners.
If you dont want to share your footage, thats fine.
If you do want to help, we, or whoever handles the media will be expecting ALL tapes handed in at the end of the weekend.
(just leave name and address with tapes so they can be sent to you a few weeks later).

Also, If a large enough caravan is coming from the east coast, and picking up more cars along the way,
It may be worth it to send a camera man over to the east on a plane and have him ride along and shoot the whole caravan.
I have done cross country documentaries and its pretty cool to shoot as well as alot of interesting footage can come of it. I would love to send someone for this.

We will see as things progress.
Just more ideas

I dont know anyone with a good video camera, but it sounds like a good idea. Route 66 would be a good road to film on. Im going to try and get as many ppl from around here to go, but i think i only know of 2 or 3 ppl in the area that are members on here.

Don't worry about your front plates. I live in Socal, but I have an Arizona license plate. Since the DMV in AZ only issues ONE plate, its not a problem. Its funny though, cops notice that I don't have a front plate, then they look at the rear plate, and they get these disappointed looks on their faces. haha

Cars with out of state plates are exempt from California vehicle code laws.

Bring out your car thats slammed.
Bring out your car that shoots flames.
Bring out your car with an open downpipe.
Bring out your car with no front plate.
Who gives a fuck?
Will you get pulled over? Probably.
Will you get ticketed? Highly unlikely.

Agreed, if the guys from the east cost take route 66 i think it would be easy for everyone to find each other. We will all need to organize it a little, get some names and numbers and time it out. We need an idea of how many cars also, this could get HUGE!

well i might be able to get just 3 ppl from my city but been a couple of ppl that stated that they would caravan not to mention the shitload that will want to when its almost time but i agree it does have to be organized set up some rally points were a couple of groups can meet at and have most guys numbers so we can stay in contact thru out

Here would be my issue, as I would like to come also. In setting up for stayin in hotels for the night, I would not sleep as I would be worried about my car getting stripped/stolen. It has happened to friends of mine when we went up to car shows in Winnipeg, and thats a hell of a lot smaller city than the LA area. How the hell are all of us out of town people with decent cars going to protect them from douchebags and theives?

honestly - I don't think I trust mine either. I'm gonna have a trunk full of tools, a copilot that's as handy with them as I am... and hopefully a caravan that can keep me going if shit hits the fan.

also gonna save up a decent amount of $$ so I have money in the bank if something expensive breaks and I need to pay $$ to keep her on the road...

other than that... its all about driving sensibly (nothing stupid or aggressive when you are far from home...) and giving the car a VERY thorough check out for like a week before I leave for the trip.

well i know you cant prevent thefts 100% but make yours the most deterable.
-Quick release.
-Car alarm
-Kill switches
-Etc.

Or find a hotel w/ underground parking or park close to the doors.
