Help hooking up air compressor!

Hey.

I resently got a 60gal. 5horsepower air compressor. I was looking/researching how to wire it up. My shop has a 3prong socket. It goes kinda like this. I do beleive this is a 240v 40amp plug. ???? =/

O
_ _

So, The air compressor says its a 230v I do bleive 10amp....Think it would be ok to wire it to that plug? Or what plug should I get, and how do I install it? I think the plug it needs is a 240v 10amp, that looks like a normal plug but with a sideways "T" on one side?

Thats all I got from my research, and you can't use a normal house plug.

HELP! hahha

Yes I do know, I know nothing about electrical systems. haha. I don't have the money to hire someone to install it. So please help me do it right.

Yes looks exactly like that, but the bottom prongs are going horizontal. I have no idea what its doing in there.

I love this idea. I think I will do it. Um, can you get them local?
