Hmm that seems kinda dumb IMO, better off buying a jdm 180sx and doing the sil80, that way you already got the SR. And no hassle dealing with LHD in a dominately RHD place.

I am sure a 180sx is just not too different in price than a 240sx

Thats what I was thinking, when I first saw the picks I was like WTF?? its just a 240. Why didnt he just buy a 180sx and go from there. Prolly a lot cheaper to.

not just not quite, its not at all the same.

Maybe if there was no SR20DET and it was just the SR20DE then it would be similar, we go SR for factory turbo and 205HP stock. Why would they want a less powered engine.

Although I am sure there are some KAs out there, but I would assum the numbers of KAs would be closer to our numbers of RB, prolly even less since the RB os getting real popular, but I don't live there so I don't know.

Yu gotta look at this way, we get one engine thats a direct fit, they get two (SR and CA), why bypass both of those great engines to a KA and get raped on shipping.

I think the SR is to us as the KA is to them was just an example. If I were to drive Mustang in Japan, people would be looking, Ill tell ya that much.

The funny thing is it's a lot like so many 240SXs in the states in terms of the mods.

Heh 4.3 gears + turbo KA = BURNOUTS!

Lightbulb

He might be in the millitary. I from what I know it is cheap to free for US service men (and women) to ship a car when they are stationed over seas as well as when they return. Who knows maybe he likes the car the way it is.

arent emissions laws stricter in japan because of a very high population density? Therefore, an older engine (KA24) from the states would not be legal? Sounds pretty strange...IT'S NOT FAIR!!!!

You have to give the guy props for originality. Also, don't forget not ALL silvias/180's are turbo in Japan, as a matter of fact, I'm sure most aren't. I'd rather have a KA24DE than a CA18DE or SR20DE anyway. Turbo versions are a different story. That LHD must get the ladies too... well, maybe..
