New Chrome Tailpipe Tips!

So today Im washing and waxing my car as I do every sunday...and I hit the tailpipe tip with the hose, and the black and gunky finish on it chips away in a small spot to reveal shiny, sparkling metal... Hmmm, I say, I always thought they were just regular steel and that the color they were was just corrosion or something.

turns out the tips were fairly well covered in black paint from some day when my car had been repainted before I bought it. Dirt, grease and so on covered that up. When the car was very clean, it was just matte black at best.

so I got a can of WD40 and some sandpaper and like 5 minutes later, boom!

I have two nice shiny chrome lookin tailpipe tips!

and I was so proud of myself....
I guess the point of anyone reading this thread is that you can sand the crap off your tips and "polish" them with WD40 if you like.. :-)

You gotta love the price!

Are they the factory ones? If so make sure the screws are tight. I had my spot welded on when I got my new muffler.
