not sure if this goes in the technical forum or not...but o well.
just wondering if anyone has a Tein HE manuel in english, or were they all writen in Japanese? I got mine in Japan 2 years ago so Im not sure how the US ones came. I need to know some things about that little green plastic thing that came with them. Thanks! ![]()

If your refering to the long L shaped plastic peice that says Tein on it, that's just to make sure that you have enough legal ground clearance. Remember In Japan they have to go thru Shaken which is somewhat like smog test but more elaborate, some pretty tuff standards. I think no less than 9 inches will pass

Yeah i also wondered about that green thing. Like kurio said it is for measuring ground clearance(i think). In the japanese manual it has an illustration of someone measuring the clearance with it.

apparently there's some kind of height regulation in japan, it's a measurer for that height, like from your cat to the ground... i believe it's the standard size of a speed bump in japan, like 80mm, right?

my car was so low my frame rail hit the speed bump. NOT COOL
hahaha.. fixed that. ill measure where its at now, everything seems to clear except steep driveways..but that's always gonig to be an issue unless you are stock height...and sometimes need to be higher then that too. ![]() |

yeah i might have to raise mine up a little bit..just to be safe..we'll see..i'll measure when i get home..
![]() also what do you set your Teins at damper wise for normal driving?..uhh we'll say 0 being softest and 16 being stiffest (arbitrary values).. hey when you comin back up north?..there is a pretty fun small time event on August 3rd in Monterey, well Marina to be exact (it's like 25 min from Santa Cruz), if you wanna get a tiny bit of warm up in before Buttonwillow.. |

aug 3...hmm i'll chck my schedule. for now im maybe but that might be yes if i find out im free that weekend!! thanks! (can i drift there?) hehe...
my Teins were at 8 clicks in from hardest daily drive..sometimes 10. i dont like it too soft. i like to haul around corners so low damper=sot springs is just annoying. |

alright well hopefully you are free that weekend.. yeah you can most definately drift..that is the only reason we go there..it's technically an AutoX but they allow us to drift because we know the person who puts it on personally through Full Speed..plus there are only about 4 of us out of 100 or so participants who drift..but he hooks us up...we don't even have to show up at 8am like everyone else..we can cruise in at like 12:30 and run in the afternoon groups.. ![]() |

I had a question about adjusting the camber on the HE. I adjusted the front camber today and im not certain how much i did it. There are ruler lines on the top of the camber plate and i put it to the fourth mark. Does each marking measure in 0.5 degree increments or is it measured in 1 degree increments? If its .5 then i have it a -2 camber.

i dont think its meant to be degrees. i think its for accuracy on each side.
also remember, HEs have a eccentric bolt so make sure you are alerady aligned properly w/ that bolt before playing w/ the camber plates also more camber=toe in. |
