why so much bashing on the kid? does it hurt you people that much to answer some of his simple questions? instead u want to act like an asshole and criticize what he wants to do?

this sounds like a good project. maybe someone here on the zilvia forums has done it already and hasn't chimed in.

i see it as tough love for the kid.

surely you can't really think its a good idea for a 15 year old kid to drive around with a RB26DETT powered s-chassis car? that has memorial service written all over it.

also factor in the sheer amount of money that it would take to complete the project is substantial.

why waste useful information on a fantasy build?

he's 15, he should start a tame build and maybe when he's older and more experienced he can tackle a project of those proportions, but for right now this project is just sheer fantasy and honestly very pointless.

in my experience people with either the economic means or fabrication skills to do these things rarely post threads asking about it.

If the account of all these cars in your family is true why are you bothering us, go bother your fucking family.

2008/2009 full of shit on zilvia, one member at a time.

people here in GA can import you an s15 for under $20k

but you're going to have to find out yourself, how to state legalize it.

and....don't go crazy with a high HP car...i can tell you stories with 16 year old kids with SR20's and RB20's and how they have fucked up. lol

im 20 and ive had my 240 for almost a half year now. hopes and dreams are great but if your not rich, well, it will take you for ever to do this. eather you will have to pay somone to do it or go to school for it, not to mention parts and all the custom fab, your better off just saving up for a silvia.

jamg is right. you dont want a power house for your first car. you will wreck it or yourself.

LOL, it's not some COLLECTOR'S car. It's a fucking Nissan.

They're not that valuable and there's no way that car will ever go UP that much in value, unless it has the cure for cancer or something within the chassis.

ummm fully built rb26 custom body track car? 'legalized' silvias go for less than the cost of what youre asking for.

just impress all the other juniors in highschool by rocking some sr s13 with a zomg silvia conversion... thats more badass than any 16 year old should justifiably be daily driving

Dude don't let your dads funds build your car. Everyone would just make fun of you and laugh. Buy a cheap first car (like a civic) wreck it. Then get whatever car you want. Find a job and go from there. Also stick around the forums, it'll mature you up.

But yeah, you can do all that stuff but like most kids you don't really know how money works.

Your 7500 will run out once you start factoring how much the registration is gonna be, the gas, all the parts, labor, misc stuff it takes to put parts on etc.

You're better off just getting an S13 like every other kid and really mapping out how much money you have after you've budgeted a life out.

You're gonna wanna buy clothes and go on dates and crap and HOPEFULLY do well in school and make something out of your self.

Cars don't make you cool, you do.
that is a hella good point...

You all fail so miserably at trying to make me feel bad. Seriously. The 7500 is going to be spent on GETTING THE CAR IN MY GARAGE. NOT THE CONVERSIONS, ENGINE SWAPS, NOTHING, BUT GETTING IT HERE. -.-

Being around car maniacs all my life HAS its advantages. I DO know how to drive, I have known for a while. I started when I was almost 12, just like all the rest of you, most likely. And I'll be 16 in August. For real, if you're going to leave shit comments, don't bother.

To WagDatto: I've already planned this out, extensively, with my dad. I have plenty of legit connections that my cousins have gotten tons of parts from, so yeahh, I might break $17,500 on the whole project, but that's not a problem.

To the rest of you complaining about wrecking a "powerhouse": If I can drive my cousin's R34 GT-R and be fine, I'm pretty sure I can drive a car with the same engine just as well.

To Tearlessj: He and I are doing the project together. Yeahh, getting a job is a given, and I will have one, and be paying for a good bit of it myself. As I've said before. I'm not stupid. I'm not going to just jump into a project without having at least some prior knowledge.

THE REASON I DON'T ASK MY COUSINS IS ONE DRIVES SKYLINES, AND THE OTHER DRIVES AN ACTUAL SPEC S SILVIA. THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO DO CONVERSIONS. FFS. -.-

I never knew adults could be this stupid, really.

I'm not trying to seem like the smartest kid in the world or anything. If I thought that, I would have just gone and tried it, probably failed, THEN come asking for HELP. -.-

Here comes some more advice I think you should ask to have your thread locked. Lye low if you have any good input post in other threads and then make a new thread once you have the car and have a decent amount of work done lots of pics post in the http://zilvia.net/f/chat/153667-pic-...s-no-post.html thread and enjoy zilvia not going to lie to you but I saw this thread getting flamed as soon as I read it. Just stay positive have your family help you your cousins or whatever with the GTR's will surely help you out if you go RB and I cant wait to see pics. Good luck and best regards =]

And there it is. You're right, my dad's cousin's brother's girlfriend's ex had a Skyline too, we used to race it it on the highway, it was dope.

Kid, you're completely full of shit. Completely. None of your family owns anything 'JDM' or exotic. None. If they did, they'd smack the fuck out of you for being a useless turd, or they'd teach you to not be a turd, get off the forums, and actually learn shit from them. Like said before, people who build cars of this nature don't post on forums, they don't lie about shit, they don't cry looking for help and then getting flamed. If you have even a thread of knowledge about building a car you'd be doing it, not sitting here talking about it. You're exactly like every other 15yr old kid who comes on here with a pipedream, talking big about things you're capable of. If you've got all this money laying around, why in hell would you buy a piece of shit, worn out 20yr old car and invest 10x what it's worth only to make a shitty, 20yr old car that's really fast? If I was 16 and had money, I'd be driving a BMW, Audi, something that's actually nice. Something that rides good, has A/C, leather seats, all the nice shit I couldn't afford at that age.

You're lying, you're full of shit, and I'd love to see you wash your mouth out with buckshot. That would be doing us all a favor.

Wow. Driving at 12? Shit at 12 i was still watching fuckin GI JOE not wanting a damn JDM silvia conversion on a USDM 240sx. Who gives a shit about having a legit looking silvia. Why don't you just grab some of your cousins body panels make copies of it and then mold them to fit your unattained 240sx. Not everyone gets to be handfed answers. Zilvia is a giant storage room full of conversion threads and kids asking the same thing you have. If you wanted a picture go search on cardomain. /tard

Do yourself a favour, just buy a FWD learn how to drive that shit before you hurt yourself wrap'd around a pole. I wouldn't let any 'Minor Kid' touch my car even if he claims that he's been driving since he was 12 years old.

Kids these days...

I'm 20 now and I've been drivin since I was 12. I grew up workin on the family farm. First vehicle I drove was a high geared 92 ranger. Stalled it out 3 times before i got out of the parking lot. Give the kid a break, hell I'm still a kid and a noob when it comes to a lot of stuff but he comes looking for answers. Ya'll treating him like shit isn't a good way to bring him up in the 240 community.

Kid, I hope you get it done and I want to see the build thread. Make sure you document everythign so you can be helpful. Show these fucktards what a helpful person can accomplish. Ugh it's true, some people never grow up...

i dont understand.

if money is no object then why start with a s14 to convert it to a s15 instead of just buying an s15? if you're cousin's drive "skylines and silvia's" then why not just get another silvia? why buy a car for $7500 and speed a lot more $$ to make it resemble an s15 than just start off with an s15 chassis

it's pretty idiotic imo. its like buying a base lancer and trying to convert it to an EVO 9.

also factor in the kid's trying to swap an rb26dett when the rb25det can satisfy enough potential for the project and will ultimately be an easier swap. the rb26dett is just a "HAY LOOK AT ME!!!" motor

there is nothing worse than the spoiled snot nosed kid who comes to a car meet with his built car with his parents money. now you're being a disrespectful little twat when the guys here are trying to steer you in the right direction.

i'm pretty sure the guys here would be open to help if the OP was a 21-30 y/o individual on his on dime, not a 15 y/o kid dreaming up some wild project with his parents $$$

and +2 on using that money to buy a BMW or something. with that money wasted in destroying a perfectly good s14 you could buy a used E46 BMW M3

put down the controller kid. this aint forza or need for speed. this is real life.

you're a kid, stop acting like you know it all. what these people are telling you is useful information sprinkled in a little douchebaggary but ultimately they're giving you the best option instead of rolling up to car meets and looking like a douchebag and blowing money on a pointless project.

don't end up like this kid

i am 21 and got my liscence and first car at 19yrs old. yeah insurance sucks. this was in Pensacola florida. thats where you are right? I was there for 2 years. the car scene SUCKS. pensacola is like the gouch of america.

go spearfish, party in destin, and buy a cheap beater to learn basics of working on a car.

RB26 swap, with 25 tranny, full RHD conversion, all the bodywork for the rear/front conversion?????

Kid, do you even know how to do an oil change?

When I get a son...he's gonna have what ever car he wants with what ever rims, kit, asthetics he wants. Catch is, itll have a fucking D15 SOHC engine in it...no way I'd let him drive a fucking fast car until I can be assured that he can handle it. Same shit with you kid, if Nick Hogan can get a D1 license and then utterly fuck up on the street, what makes you any different from him?

Get a car, drive the shit out of it on the track and learn how to drive these cars with minor work. Once you get the ropes, then start building...no point of building a fucking car that is way above your driving capability. Learn to drive first...not saying you cant drive like put it in gear and go, but actually driving and knowing how to control a car. Thats not something that happens over night, takes lots of work, practice and learning the car.

No matter how much money you spend, and how quality of a job you do, it's still just a cheesy conversion.
