![]() I've searched but not too much info on pressure on the pedal for each clutch..
I was looking at spec, centerforce, and ACT. Its for my stock 89 redtopSR.. i would like to know what would be the one with very minimal pedal pressure. I do alot of traffic driving. The stock pedal i have now is so much more stiffer then old my KA one..Even if its a clutch for SR.. Iam thinking its tooo stiff...maybe a bad clutch.. would like to hear ppl's opinions about the pedal pressure.. thx.. Last edited by 1121S13; 08-03-2003 at 12:54 AM.. |

i have a spec stage 3 clutch and the pressure feels liek stock so thats good.
im not sure if its like that b/c i have a stainless steel line also but its pretty light as far as pressure is. actually, i sure hope i broke in my clutch correctly b/c i installed my short shifter while i was under my car. i know that you're suppose to ease the clutch in so you have soft clutch engagemtn and drive under 3000 rpm, but its kinda tough w/ a short shifter cuz you basically speed shift w/ it. |

With a hydraulic clutch, most setups are going to be pretty soft. A lot of the pressure comes from a spring on the pedal itself. Obviously there's pressure coming from the clutch as well, but it's not the same as a cable actuated system.
Also, as far as breaking in your clutch, a short-shifter shouldn't make any difference at all. It's the way you use the clutch that matters, not the way you shift. As long as you keep it under 4000RPM and don't go to full throttle you should be fine.

CEnterforce dual friction for 89 maxima is very close to stock feel I was told.
I myself am using a stage-1 act clutch kit. I like it a lot and it's not that stiff..
