sr20det question

i noticed the intake pipe on my sr is moist, i'm guessing it's oil but don't know how the oil got there? is it blow by? i don't have a after market catch can and the stock catch can was taken off by a shop and the hose seems like it's routed straight back into the block.

car drives perfect. everything is good. no smoke from the tail pipe. i'm just wondering if it's something that i should be worried about? then again i heard it was normal for the intake to get a little oily on the sr.

If you look at the valve cover, there is a T with a hose coming from it, into your intake. Oil usually comes from that line and getting sucked into your intake/turbo.

exactly ^ You can install a catch can to monitor the amount but a leak down test will tell you how healthy the motor is.
