lifted hood ala nadine180.com

so i bought an ebay front strut bar and the damn thing hits my hood. now i have a dented hood, sore fists and a hole in the plaster. anyone know how to do that hood lift/angle like nadine has? do i need to machine some kind of blocks to go between the hood and the hinges or is there a simpler way? please help, i hope if i fix it fast enough i can push the ding out of my hood. thanks

graham

i have probably the same strut bar. mine also sat to high and was going to hit hood. you have to flatten it out (i shoved it between 2 planks on my houses deck and bent it) or you could use a vice with a rag wrapped around the bar so you dont scratch

i got a cheap-o strutbar, was too high
took a towel and a sledgehammer to it
my friend stood on the end while i hammered the middle flat.
dont hammer the end of the bar because you will make the screw hole you put the end connector smaller (crush it pretty much) and the end piece wont fit.
mine fits perfectly now
still kinda iffy that im using a home-bent STB, o well, it works.
