I just wanna put it out there

For all of the neat freaks out there that use engine degreasers to clean their engine bay you guys will be in deep $hit if you keep using that stuff. I figured out the hard way when my car started idling like crap and kept stalling becuase intake manifold gasket deteriorates and starts falling apart from that stuff. Just use some soap and water and a little elbow grease and stay away from that other stuff. Yes I found out why KA's mysteriously idle like crap all of the sudden and in most cases it can be blamed on a deteriorating intake manifold gasket and also possibly an egr gasket.

Purple power works great except when it gets underneith your fingernails. Buy the 2 1/2 gallon jug you'll soon be using it for everything and for under $15 its a good deal for something that works.

I have purple power in my 20 gallon parts washer. I love that stuff. Just don't have your hands immersed in it for very long without gloves, it removes skin!

I clean my engine bays with it too, it's a great cleaner.

degreasers huh?
and here I thought that KAs usually idle like crap because of the high mileage, old cracked hoses and tired sensors they usually have.
who knew.

Yeah, it's not pinched or holey vacuum lines or loose connections that make engines run like shit. It's gaskets that are sandwiched between two chunks of metal being eaten at by occasional applications of degreaser that does it.

Now you know.

Products like Engine brite will say "rinse with water" for a reason because yes they will eat up old rubber vac. lines and paper gaskets. The same goes for Purple power and other degreasers.
