Umm...you know you gotta get a conversion kit first right? You cant just drop ethanol into your gas tank and expect it to run.

you can run your car on E85 but you will need to get a conversion kit and have your ECM/ECU retuned plus e85 spark plugs. there is no real up side to runing e85 what your going to pay for the e85 conversion kit is more then it is worth. If you dont like you MPG dont buy a rb20 or sr20. sell your car and get a ka.

and yes they have. My uncle in california who owns a auto shop has had to do motor re-builds due to the e85 burning hols in the pistons. people are dumb. My ex boss put 87 octain in his duramax diesel twice and i had to drop the tank and clean all the lines.. people are dumb ...

Negative on that one...no matter what gas you have, you will still be restricted by the tiny ass stock turbos. Only advantage you'd have is itll be less prone to detonation at higher boost and you save your ass roughly 50 cents per gallon with E85 vs regular unleaded.

Now if you have a big turbo setup and you want to push it to the max, having an E85 setup will lower the chance of your engine pinging.

But you also use more E85 than gasoline to make the same power.

e85 is pretty damn amazing stuff guys..

anyone ever use it here?

i have had very close friends tune on it, and for what it does its better then any race gas ive used.

my buddies car is making 407rwhp and 408 torque on a dynojet tuned on e85 with a stock bottom end and 264 cams

the real benefit to e85 is the temp that it burns at you would almost not need to run a intercooler. the stuff works great it just takes a investment to do it right.

so instead of having 550cc injectors, you need 850cc due to the large demand for fuel.

i wouldnt do it on a stock motor like others have said.. wont help much then, but if you do have a built engine or atleast some decent mods it can help tremdously

E85 is a great fuel i highly recommend it.. Im running e85 on my sr and have had great success with 796hp @ the wheels.

You will need 30-40% more fuel on your tune to run E85 so i would not recommend it to some1 that does not have a stand alone or some way of doing a re-tune. Like Grenade180sx said you injectors will have to be swapped out and bigger ones. Al in all e85 is a great fuel but takes some modds to do so..

Oh and E85 spark plugs??? you can use your same plugs...

Let me know if you have any questions.. [email protected]

If you want to see the video of the car on the dyno go to Home Page

Mike
