AIC Valve. removal?

92 ka24de. pretty much stock. idles at 1k but sounds like its misfiring. when i take off from a stop it bogs or misfires bad at low rpm. ive replaced spark plugs wires. cleaned the throttle body. i've been told it could be the IAC valve. can anyone help me out on how to remove and clean it? or if it could be something else. i've seached but havn't found anything on this topic. thanks

It's a great link, but some of the guys were inquiring about a high idle and whether or not the IACV/AAC is the cause. Their questions were never answered. My car idles perfectly but if I tap the accelerator it will stay at a constant 1500 or 2000 rpms for about 5 seconds and then drop back to down to a perfect idle.

I took it to a mechanic and he said it needed an new IACV/AAC but it was gonna cost too much to have him do it so I thought I'd check online first.

Also, my check engine light pops on and off every so often, it doesn't matter if the car is hot or cold it comes on at random. Is this also a cause of a dirty IACV/AAC?

Do you want to have solid idle control?

If you lighten your flywheel, go turbo and run open atmostphere etc etc, the IACV is going to be needed to smooth our your idle.

If you are planning on just having this car as a full blown race car and running the throttle screw over compensated with a 1500 RPMS base idle then be my guest

but what about if the idle is Ok but has has a higher rev for 5 seconds after you tap the accelerator?

... and would it cause the "check engine light" to come on?... Basically what I asked in my original question.

by removal hes talking about taking it off the motor for disassembly and cleaning. not litterally removing the air idle control valve from the engine management. thats what i thought too at the title.

download a factory service manual(fsm) and figure it out yourself.
