Origin Lab Type 2 Rear overfender.......

It has been a little while since these have come out, although I have yet to see a set installed, aside from the pictures provided on their website. Does anyone have any experience, information, or installed pictures? Also, does anyone know what front fenders are on the black car, I love that JGTC style vent along the door?

Those front fenders look like they might be from BN Sports?

Hmm, these look pretty good. Now you've got me debating between koguchi power or origin lab type 2...

I have these on my car - 30mm rears... pretty fun to install - just measure twice, rivet once, no problems

very big pain in the ass.. in a time consuming way..

your gonna need some very strong body panel adhesive, fiberglass resin and mat(not necc), body filler/bondo, tons of sand paper, and patience lol

after cutting out the old fender, and test fitting and getting the correct position ready
mount the panel on with the adhesive
now comes the time to make the choice if you want you can use fiberglass mat and lay that across the new fender to the body and sand that smooth..

or you can just sand down the edge of the new fender till its close to smooth

either way you go you will be finishing up with some body filler/bondo and lots of sanding

molding it looks good for about a week if you dont know what your doing. seen plenty of cars brought over from japan all cracked up around the widebody as well as friends.
where the glassed piece meets the metal quarter theres a flex point regardless.
unless you plan on putting -2000 km on your car or its for show, whats the point. you cant even really put a floor jack under your car and jack it up with your car flexing in several areas.

too much hassle/time/matierials and someone who doesnt know body work shouldnt start on something like molding overfenders. understanding how things work is #1 priority

bondos a decent coverup but its weak as hell. matting is definately the way to go. use plenty of resin, and roll it out properly makin sure theres no air bubbles.

not 100% sure, as it had the kit from Japan and was unable to find any markings.... but I believe it is AeroPalace type 1 (front bumper was the type 1 one originally) www.aeropalace.co.jp

Hmm...i like those fenders but damn finding a set of front fenders that will look decent with those. Only thing that popped in my head that might work would be koguch powers fenders.

super sexy. molding when done right looks so sleek. Was this done with regular bondo or "matting" which was mentioned earlier. what is matting btw?

Well to reply to the original posting, I have personally seen/worked on/painted a car with origin type 2 50mm fenders. I also made a gas cap for them because the supplied one is stupid looking. Here's a link to the car, if you want more pictures just let me know! it's my roommates so i can snap some anytime.

Are you on crack? These are not type II's. Clueless people suck.
Type II's suck. Nobody should get them. Why would you start a thread about them? If you want them, GET THEM.

I guarantee they used body filler, sorry but its the truth. After moulding more than one set of overs I can tell you its impossible to mould them properly without filler. I'm not saying its a bad thing, I just love how misinformed poeple are. The days of bondo are LONG GONE.
