There was also the Z commercial where he beat another car, then something else, then a jet plane and said then the turbo kicked... nissan made great commercials.

Nissan had that Z commercial with the doll driving the toy car that picked up some Barbie-like chick, totally ruining the plans of some sweater-wearing yuppie. It was all done with the music backdrop, "You really got me."

Anyone remember that? A classic, I say. A classic.

Actually, the more I think about it, Nissan still makes great commercials. I love their "Not that you would. But you could." series for the Pathfinder. And their "Everything you need. Nothing you don't" series for the X-Terra too. If it weren't so ugly, I'd probably like their Altima commercials as well.

My favorite Nissan commercial is the one where the old man and his dog are talking to the little boy in the warehouse looking thing, and he has all the Nissans throughout history, you can see a 510, 810, 280, 300 etc.

I also like the race car one, where they show the pit crew washing the race car during the final lap because Nissan was so far ahead, the voice over says, "We were going to wax it, but we didnt want to brag." or something like that.

The "Dogs love trucks" one was a classic too...Good 'ol Utaka Katayama (sp?):) I've got all (that I know of) of the old Z32 commercials that were aired on my other computer...I'll try and put them up one by one after it gets back up and running. The quality isn't that great, but hey...they're there. My favorite is the one..."So, I'm havin' this dream...These guys are after me. So they get a motorcycle, but they can't catch me. Then they get a race car, but they still can't catch me. Then they get a plane...and Jusssst when they're about ready to catch me...The twin....turbos....kick.....IN." AWESOME adverstising back then, although I must say, the new commercials have been pretty cool too. I'd like to get a collection of all the aired Nissan commercials, but that would probably be a PITA.

yeah i remember that one. it was g.i. joe rappelling off a chest of drawers hopping into a Z32 convt racing across the hall to barbie's house. apparently ken wasn't hittin it right and joe's z made her all moist and stuff. i won $50 from a bet on that commercial about two months ago. the dude swore up and down it was a mazda commercial and i bet him. i emailed the nissandriven website to get verification. that was cool.

Anyone remember that? A classic, I say. A classic.
