Finally Resolved Stumbly Idle Problem

The culprit was.......... drumroll........

The EGR valve. I tried lots of stuff before realizing that the EGR was clogged up and remaining open at idle, therefore resulting in a stumbly idle. I didn't bother replacing it, I just removed it. I cut up a piece of sheet metal and screwed it on the intake manifold hole. As for the exhaust manifold, I stuck a nickel in the hole and used the screw thing that was on the EGR tube. Worked like a charm. The car isn't 100% smooth at idle, but I'd say the shaking is 95% gone and the car isn't missing/backfiring at idle anymore.

I had an idling problem too. Turns out that my car was low on headlight fluid and the muffler bearings were bad. After a trip to Pep Boys, problem corrected!

doesnt blocking the egr valve throw a code? i always thought when you blocked the egr, you had to put a resistor on the intake manifold temp sensor to fool the system.

I have a 90. No check engine light. Car runs as strong as before. On a side note, I finally fixed my nasty exhaust manifold leak by screwing out the broken studs and putting in new ones. Air tools are awesome btw... Car runs like a champ
