Agreed with above, but at the same time I'm glad as I had no shot whatsoecer of making it out there with my own car so thisgives me lots of time to get crackin on this. Also I am willing to help as much as I can even though I'm here in Chicago. I actually just recently opened up a small local shop with 3 of my guys so its a bit hard evoting time but I'm willing to do as much as I can.

reasons? the economy is in the shitter. most folks aren't going to want to spend over a grand on this trip (between gas, food, and lodging), they aren't going to want to drive 40 plus hours there and back, and the 240sx community has been taken over by a bunch of bandwagon drifter wannabe's not true nissan enthusiasts. the 240sx community has been chopped up to a bunch of local and regional divisions. prior to the 02 convention most enthusiasts knew each other from the old amarok email list. so even though the community was spread out across 3000 miles, people still knew each other from online. point being, back then members couldn't wait to meet each other in person. where as now, there are a bunch of "enthusiasts" in their own back yard. and their sentiment will be, "why drive all the way to california when i can meet people right here in my own back yard." (i've already seen this on our local forum.) and lastly, people have no sense of adventure anymore.

again, good luck. lol. i'd go again in a heartbeat, but i'm one of the 10% without solid employment. (i.e. part time.)

We should have some way of better organization for this thing to happen next year, I'd be willing to make the drive down from Canada, but there needs to be some sort of mass email or something to update and have people on the same page.

I would be very interested in making this happen and am going to start taking the steps to make an event like this happen and since organizing specail events and fundraisers happens to be my career... lets see what I can do.

Then you should probably talk to me, Kevin, Sam and Lisa about how much it will cost just to secure locations as well as everything else involved.

Im sure Kevin and Lisa would love some help as their lives are busy and none of us want to spend several thousand of our own money on this event.

and yes, I was born on friday the 13th


As of right now, I would bet not.
I havent talked with Kevin in a bit though.
But my guess is this whole thing will be on hold till one of us really wants to pony up the initial several thousand out of their own pocket. (and with no expectation of a return)

I personally would like to see it done in the summer of 2012.
I think that would give us time.
It would give the enthusiest time to recover as our countries economy gets on track.
And it being 2012 is cool, lol
It would also give the 240sx world just a little longer for the hype of drifting and fanboys to calm down a bit.

But thats just my opinion
