factory two tone color question, Convertable?
Figured I'd post up an ask the zilvia world, I have been doing alot of searching an have come up with no luck.
In 94 I know they only made convertables, Did they ever make a factory two tone convertable? white on top, black or gray on bottom I have never seen a two tone vert untill now, picking this car up today or tomarrow. If they did make a factory two tone vert how rare are they? I know the production numbers of 94, but no where did is see two tone... For 1994: 338 white with federal emissions. (color code 326) 331 red with federal emissions. (color code AG2) 224 red pearl with federal emissions. (color code AH3) 265 black with federal emissions. (color code KH3) 85 white with california emissions. (color code 326) 61 red with california emissions. (color code AG2) 42 red pearl with california emissions. (color code AH3) 46 black with california emissions. (color code KH3

Not that I know of. Convertibles only came with the chuki bumper, and two-tones were only offered with the pignose bumper. At least in the US. Whether or not Nissan offered convertibles with the Silvia front end and two-tone in Japan, I don't know.

That's definitely not OEM.
Perhaps some idiot salesman at the original dealership tried to dish out a "custom" packages or something. There is no way in HELL that Nissan authorized that though. Plus, it appears to be a black and white color scheme, also never authorized by Nissan, thus NOT OEM.

Like I said, the dealer might have thought it was "brilliant" marketing or something.
Perhaps it got damaged in shipping, so they had a local bodyshop fix and repaint it on the cheap, and opted for a hideous two-tone that has no bodyline to follow on the front bumper. It didn't roll off the assembly line looking like that though.

something seems fishy "original owner" rare 2 tone vert. plus some goofy stickers on the car... something isn't adding up.

original owner, car was given to his daughter for a couple years to drive, then she went to college, gave the car back to her father then he park the car in march, guy just deside to sell it since its been sitting, so I guess im in luck for finding it since i already have a 94 vert, 92 rhd coupe,96 zenki,93 coupe could use another one to the collection.
He said, he has the original window stick an all the paper work from buying the car from 94, so i guess i will see tomarrow if hes bullSh*ting me or not.

If the car is from Jersey, I wouldn't doubt if it had rust. Maybe they tried to cover it up by painting the lower section?
But, yeah. That's definitely not factory. Silvia S13's and Pignose S13's came Two-Tone. Nothing else. |

the picture of the front end makes it painfully obvious that it is not a factory paint job. they got to the front bumper and then just dipped the line down below the turn signal since the chuki bumper has no natural place to have the colors meet.
It may very well have been bought from the original dealer like that, but the two-tone job would have been done by the dealer, not the factory. I think a few hatches left dealer lots with two-tone paint the same way.

Another thing to do when you go to look at it is check the oem color code listed in the door jamb. Then you'll at least know how it rolled off the line.

the end to a good story, was going back an forth with the owner on price, the car was running when he parkd it then his gurlfriend must have showd the car off the someone that wanted to buy it they have pulled all the main fueses so the car would not start. Then the owner calld me an said the car wouldnt start an couldnt figure out what it was so i offerd him a really low price he took it. got to work this morning poped open the main fues box under the hood saw all the missing fueses, so i had some extra ones put them in... Car fired right up light a dream, power top works also...just thought everyone would get a kick out of this story..
