bleeding/clutch slave

I have a sr20det in my z. I had to go with a shorter clutch master due to the car being RHD and running the intake manifold I wanted however this shorter master is almost the same size as a s13 master. The clutch and slave worked perfect when there was the factory s30 Z master on there but had to ditch it due to being too long. I am using this clutch master.

The clevice is adjusted all the way out, it sits as far away from the firewall as possible.

My friend sits in the car pumps the pedal and holds it down.
I open bleeder, close it.
He releases, and then pumps again and we repeat that.

I have a solid stream coming out, however my clutch pedal is still hitting the floor and only moves the fork about 1/4" max to disengage the clutch. Is there anything that I missed?

The s14 FSM says to bleed it the way I have been doing it

watch this video at the 18:15 mark

YouTube - How To Replace Clutch Hydraulics (Honda Civic)

What he is doing is the complete opposite of what the s14 fsm states.

The line goes directly from the master to the slave. There are no leaks anywhere.

I bleed it again today. Following the video. Which is completely opposite what the FSM states. Master/Slave works perfect.

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder before you installed it?

YouTube - Dual Brake Master Cylinder - How to Bench Bleed (Moss Motors Tech)

This is the idea, sorry it is a brake master, but same thing.

Usually, when you buy a master cylinder it comes with a little tube and an adapter that screws into where the hardline would go.

Screw it in, then attatch the tube, then put the other side of the tube into where the fluid goes.

Fill it with fluid, then push the master cylinder rod in and out and watch the bubbles in the fluid.

Keep doing it until there are no more bubbles.

Then take the tube out, attach the hard line.

Then bleed through the slave.

WA LA, no air

I dont know if this solves your problem at all, but if you didn't bench bleed, that could be why.

Good luck.
