To gut or not to gut
okay, I'm putting a full 6 point with door bars in my 300zx in a few weeks and it's my daily/drift setup(for now atleast), should i just gut the whole rear? anyone try to fit the interior back in the car once it has a cage? Pictures etc?
I haven't decided, but I was thinking about after the cage just put sound deadening down and just leaving it bare. would probably be best

You're going to get 50/50 on the opinions for this(you'll see in s tuned's thread), but I can tell you what mine is. If this is the car you will be driving on the street, I would recommend keeping whatever interior pieces the cage will allow. Especially considering that females do not appreciate the caged/stripped shell look as most of us do. I think a car that is daily driven looks awesome with proper cage fitment, full interior, working radio, and clean body. True weekend warrior.

People are pretty divided on this but it is true that any girl will look at you in disgust when she gets in to a stripped gutted/caged beast with nothing but metal although it could be done right and actually loook really nice with a nice inside paintjob but it comes down to how much time are you willing to put in to make it look legit

This car will see just as much track time as it does street time. I'm going to try to keep as much as possible, I'm not gutting the front what so ever, other than slots in the rug for the cage, Depending on how much rear i need to cut out i'll take it out or leave it, but I want to lay some sort of sound deadener down to keep shit quiet.

full cage with interior is boss, if your not going to do it to the fullest, meaning no passenger seat, then i would say not gut. half ass gutting looks like shit imho

I think what the real problem is people thinking their car is a race car on the streets due to their interior being gutted

When I bought my car the interior was stripped no panels nothing but a headliner and a seat, it was "cool" for a little while but it got old quick, it was humid, no AC anyways so windows were fogged, when it was cold it was COLD bare metal. I'm still trying to find pieces so I can gave carpet, interior panels ext.
My opinion is yes do it if it's your track car, if it's you DD then no it's dumb there's really no point your not really losing very much weight just my opinion on that. Atleast keep the front clean and gut the rear. |

Unless its track only, gutting is fucking lame.
do something like this. It takes time, but its way worth it. I havent even tracked this car yet so its pointless to even have it in there, but whatever. lol ![]() ![]() |

seriously, chicks do sometimes dig different look to a car. I have 2 other cars and a bike. But sometimes I drive my track car on street and have fun.

the only thing in a 300zx 2-0 that weighs a lot are the seats. If you wanna shed pounds the interior wont help you.
