Anyone happen to know how easy it is to dimple/bend orx header? fitment issuse...
Well i thought i was one of the lucky ones who got a decent obx manifold until i turned hard right. The clearance between the steering knuckle (and the bolt that holds it to the rack) and the side of the manifold is really tight and when i turn hard right its enough to rub and cause a hard (to turn the wheel) spot in my steering. Not only does this annoy me but its dangerous to drive.
So my question is how easy is it to dimple/bend/squash the obx manifold? I was hoping i might be able to get a big pair of channel locks on it and give it hell. If not any other ideas? Worst case ill pull it back out because ive got a BFH with its name on it.

with the manifold installed i would: circle the area where the bolt is making contact, take out the manifold out and beat it with a hammer in that area.

If you are gonna be lazy.
make sure to put something solid a long the backside of the header. Like a length of wood or metal, so the channel locks only bend the one side in. I would also be careful of the square edges ripping into the header. maybe bend a coin or large washer a little, and put it on the channel locks so you are putting pressure on with a curved surface. |
