s13 Sr20 idling @ 2000 rpm

Just like the title says my Redtop idles @ 2k. I don't want to jus adjust iacv just in case my timing is off. So is there a way check or test to see if timing is the issue without a timIng light?

sure its not a boost leak??
spray some brake cleaner or starter fluid near all of your vacuum hoses and see if the idle goes up

You will have to have a timing light at the minimum to check your timing...
