sr20det complete loss of power

hello i have a stock sr20det redtop smic etc etc all stock configuration.

OK recently the car has been acting strange.

1.when ever i rev the car or go into neutral the rpm's dip down pretty low.

2.If i go WOT at any rpm in a low gear (1,2) the car just stutters and makes alot of noise but doesn't really go anywhere, backfires, rpms lagg on ascending

3.I pulled the plugs, there is some oil on the threads and the plugs electrodes look burnt (lean)

4.if i do a 1st gear wot like a bat out of hell then switch into 2nd gear the car always makes an unusually loud backfire.

5.i drained the oil and seen flakes of gold. not FLAKES but dust. not a huge amount just a tiny bit.

6.the car used to make a ticking noise on cold start, i cleaned the IACV with carb cleaner and it hasn't made any of that noise since.

im thinking the compression has went to shit, or the turbo is on its way out.
any other suggestions? appreciate it.

Start with testing/cleaning your MAF and check for ecu fault codes.

If you own a volt meter, check all the sensors. Takes time, but diagnosis is a process of elimination. And a clean maf can still be a bad maf.
