will nismo engine mounts work for my ka?

As many of you may know the OE style engine mounts are about
$110 a piece. I don't see the point of paying that much for OE mounts. So heres my question, Will the nismo engine mounts work correctly with the KA?

they are the same as KA mounts

The nismo mount should be the same for KA or SR you could get them around $250 (2 engine mounts & tranny mount)

I just filled mine w/ polyurethane, I like the results, save the money for a rainy day, thats just my opionion though.

the nismo mounts will make your engine sit higher than stock. by eyeballing it, i'd say about an inch and a half higher.

but to answer your question, yes they will work correctly.

wait wasnt the engine mount for the SR different slightly? I read this a long time ago so I don't remember...but I thought the SR mounts were slightly offset compared to the KA mounts, and thats why KA mounts with SR's were going bad more frequently etc

Hey mjjstang, how did you fill the engine mounts will polyurethane, and where did you buy it? That sound like a good bang for your buck mod!

I've heard they're all the same from lots of people. As for the Nismo mounts making the engine an inch and a half higher, you sir, are smoking crack. When i installed mine, the engine sits maybe 1/4" higher.... MAX. Not something to worry about.

My KA with Nismo mounts sits a good amount higher. It makes it very difficult to pull off the tranny because it hits the firewall. We had to remove one of the mounts just to get enough clearance. I wouldn't be surprised if mine made it sit around 1 inch higher or even more compared to the originals.

The trick to getting the transmission out easly, (Without hitting the fire wall) is to disconect the exhaust at the Catalyctic convertor, and then pull down on the down pipe. That will give you just enough room to manuver the transmission around. Trust me, it makes it much!!! easier! Ok, back to the subject, I think I will go with either solid mounts, or fill my OE mounts will polyurathane. <(Ijust need to know how to do it first???) If my motor sits 1/4" higher it will hit my strut bar. Maybe the old mushy OE mounts are saging? The nismo mounts may position the engine at the correct hieght or somewhere near it?

well As you may know, the mounts have fins kind of like an accordian. you just buy window mold polyurethane caulk, and well the bolts were stripped in my mounts so I had to do it with them in the car, exept the tranny mount Which I did out of the car, basically you just fill the acordian like fins, and basically anywhere that looks good to you, its pretty straightforward once you get in there. I used 2 bottles. and let it dry for a few days, some people say 24 hours, but mine was in the garage with little to no light. I did one first to compare the difference, and it feels a lot stiffer.

the engines sits higher because old mounts were saggy and... old. depending on how much they have sagged on you, you will notice a large or small difference in new height. the NEW height is the stock height. your OLD height is busted height.
this poly-u filling idea is interesting... did you melt/burn the old rubber out before you filled it with PU?

I'm going to custom make solid mounts for my setup. just use a large block of steel and machine out the inside or whatever. The polyurethane thing works great. let me suggest 3m windo weld thats the stuff to use.

they are hollow inside, i m gonna fill mine with windowweld, i did it to a nismo tranney mount and it works awsome

so what you inject it into the mount itself like a syringe. how does that work, the stuf barely comes out of the caulk tube as it is with like a 1/4 inch opening. please inform me. thanks.

i either have to find a pastry style syringe or make a big hole that i can use window weld and a calk gun
