Vacuum line everywhere, how much can i take off...
Im not sure what all the lines are for, some look to be EGR related some look legit.
What if can i pull off my motor? Ill be running a KA-T, so the more simple, the better. I have no intentions of ever running an emmissions system again, so the more i can take off, the better... heres a pic. Also, is there a reason all the vacuum lines run all the way across the engine bay just for the charcoal canister?

all you need is ONE vacuum line, and that is for the fuel pressure regulator.
EGR = junk BPT = junk AIV = junk Charcoal Canister = junk am I missing anything else? Oh yeah, you're round tail light 30 dollar special = junk ![]() |

EGR might but it didn't for me. Mine is a late 93' s13 and it was originally sold in texas. In the FSM, it makes a distinction about whether there is a sensor which will trip an check engine light. It says that it happens for california models only but I've heard otherwise.

Doesnt the AIV (air intake valve) use metered air? If you were to run the AIV line open to the atmoshpere, wouldnt that cause problems?
Im assuming you talking about the idle air intake valve that is. |

The air intake valve (AIV) and idle air control (AIC) are two different things. You can remove the AIV system completely (the little black box and metal hard lines connecting the air box to the manifold) as long as you cap the holes. Could be wrong, but I don't recall the AIV using any vacuum source anyway.
